Turkish Military in Qatar are in serious danger against the Region.
Diplomatic relations in the Middle East, between the Gulf States and Turkey, are deteriorating. UAE Foreign Minister Anwar Gargash on Saturday condemned the presence of Turkish troops in Qatar, saying it was contributing to "severe political divisions" in the region. This is fueling diplomatic tensions between the two countries, which were at loggerheads in 2017 when the Gulf States cut ties with Qatar.
The UAE's foreign minister has described Turkey's military presence in the Gulf as a state
of emergency, contributing to deep divisions in the region. The minister
pointed out that this strengthens the divisions in the regional governments,
and does not take into account the sovereignty of the states and the interests
of the Gulf and its people, so our region does not need regional protection and
the establishment of traditional colonial ties. The minister described Turkey
as a threat to regional security.
Gargash
expressed concern about Erdogan's visit to Qatar and his military presence as incitement to violence, and warned that they should not be a cause for alarm
and instability in the region.
Turkey
provides military and political support to Qatar, which the Gulf government
sees as a threat and retaliation against Arab states. In 2017 when they cut
ties with Qatar, they accused it of interfering in the internal affairs of
those countries through Al Jazeera's media outlet. Qatar, meanwhile, provides
military support to terrorist groups fighting in many countries such as
Lebanon, Somalia, Pakistan, and other countries and has offices in
internationally recognized terrorist organizations.
The United Arab Emirates has been at odds over Turkey's political support for Qatar in
response to strained relations between the Gulf States and Qatar. In May, the United Arab Emirates joined Egypt, France, Cyprus, and Greece in issuing a joint
statement condemning the actions in Libya and the Turkish-led Mediterranean Sea
gas explorations. The UAE and Egypt are backing the Libyan National Army based
in the east against the UN-backed government in Tripoli.
The United
Arab Emirates (UAE) has repeatedly condemned Turkey's military intervention in
Iran and Iraq, and warned against creating unrest in the region. They described
Turkey's wars in Libya, Iraq, and Syria as a violation of the sovereignty of
Arab states and the principles of international law.
However,
the UAE government insists that Turkey is destabilizing the Middle East and
creating political divisions in the Gulf.
