Saudi Arabia’s KSRelief continues aid efforts in 6 countries

The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) continues providing aid to 6 countries, including Yemen, Niger, Sudan, Lebanon, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and Afghanistan.

According to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), KSrelief distributed 600 food packages to people affected by the floods in Afghanistan. In cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Saudi Agency helped 3,600 people in Afghanistan.

The relief agency distributed 70 tons and 299 kilograms of food to 1,533 individuals in Yemen’s Taiz governorate. KSrelief’s aid was a continuation of Saudi’s efforts to provide support to Yemenis. Earlier, it also renovated the Ibn Al-Hijlah primary school and Sumaya secondary school in Yemen.

The relief center also distributed 500 food parcels to 3,541 underprivileged people in Sudan. Around 400 food packages were also distributed to 2,800 people in Pakistan’s Sindh province.

Niamey, the capital and largest city of Niger, received 500 food packages from the relief agency. The aid benefited 4,924 people in need in Niamey.

The Saudi relief agency also gave vouchers to 1,060 Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. The refugees can purchase winter clothing as part of the Kanaf Project, which is launched by KSrelief to help refugees.

Last month, KSRelief distributed 1,084 food baskets to 6,504 people in Ethiopia. The Saudi relief agency also distributed winter clothes to Syrian and Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. The assistant supervisor general for operations and programs of KSRelief, Ahmed bin Ali Al-Beez, praised Saudi Arabia’s efforts in supporting people in Lebanon.

Last year, the relief agency also provided urgent aid to Yemenis in the flood-hit Al-Mahra Governorate by distributing at least 50 tents and 50 shelter bags to 300 people. KSRelief agency also launched various projects to support Yemen’s healthcare sector.
