To Iranian attacks on US forces in the Middle East, Biden promises a ‘forceful’ retaliation

 Several attacks on American personnel in Syria that were allegedly carried out by organizations with support from Iran prompted President Joe Biden to declare Friday that the US will react "forcefully to protect our people."

While visiting Canada, the US president stated, "Make no mistake, the United States does not seek conflict with Iran but is prepared to act aggressively to protect our people.

The Pentagon reported that no US troops were killed or hurt in the attack on a US outpost in northeast Syria on Friday, which was the second such event in two days.

Infrastructure was not damaged by the missile attack, which a US official called "an ineffectual attack."

10 rockets were fired at Coalition forces at the Green Village in northeast Syria on Friday morning, according to the United States Central Command (CENTCOM). There were no injuries to US or Coalition forces, and no facilities or equipment belonging to the US were harmed.

According to CENTCOM, one of the rockets struck a residential residence, about five kilometers away from the site, injuring two women and two children.

After an earlier attack on a different US site, which resulted in the death of an American contractor and the injury of five US service members and another contractor, US forces launched a retaliation strike against pro-Iran targets in Syria on Thursday night.

The only information the US has revealed regarding the operation is that it was carried out in eastern Syria against facilities utilized by organizations linked to Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). These targeted attacks are meant to safeguard and defend US soldiers. Thereafter, US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin declared, "The United States took measured and deliberate measures aimed to limit the possibility of escalation and minimize casualties."
