The Abraham Accords reveal the world's duplicity regarding Palestine

Democrats in the US Senate argue that the Abraham Accords and the two-state solution for Palestine-Israel are not in conflict. Their argument is effectively made if we think of two-state diplomacy as being outmoded in its current form. Israel's planned annexation of Palestinian territory was temporarily halted by the Abraham Accords, but colonial and illegal settlement growth persisted.

The Abraham Accords confirm that "two states" will never come into existence, yet the senators continue to speak of the two-state solution as though it were still an option. In that regard, the agreements reveal international inconsistency regarding Palestine.

The Abraham Accords validated the claims made for years by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about how insignificant Palestine has become to Arab leaders. Netanyahu and the US senators, who are currently downplaying the effect of the Abraham Accords on the consequences that Palestinians face as a result of Israel's settlement expansion, are aware that allegiances will change as a result, even though the current focus is on getting other Arab countries to join the normalization agreements with Israel.

US Democratic Senator Kirsten Gillibrand responded, "I think you can have these conversations about the Abraham Accords regardless of any local political issue," in response to the question of whether settlement growth is possible while advancing the Abraham Accords.

While claiming opposition to Israel's settlement development but taking no concrete action, US President Joe Biden has sounded more and more like he is moving rhetorically closer to the pointless international consensus. He is reflective of the rest of the world.

We were very clear when we spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu that it is important that they would maintain the status quo and they not do anything that would obstruct the advancement of the Abraham Accords and a negotiated two-state solution, according to Democratic Senator Jackie Rosen, who was a member of the delegation.

If Arab nations choose to participate, nothing will stand in the way of the Abraham Accords' advancement, but the two-state model is already obsolete. In order to obtain military technology from the US, Gillibrand has advised that the US entices Arab nations who took part in the normalization agreements to participate in humanitarian initiatives for Palestine. To maintain Israel's superior military capabilities over other nations in the region, the Biden administration is averse to this.

Given the widespread acceptance that the idea of two nations will never materialize, Netanyahu is aware that there is no need to hurry Israel's official annexation of Palestinian territory. Only the international world and the Palestinian Authority continue to deceive themselves, obviously at the expense of the Palestinian people.

Netanyahu is extending the timeline for Israel's colonial annexation and expansion plans with the aid of the international community. The international community's insistence on the two-state model, in the meantime, has had no positive effects on the Palestinians or for justice and peace.

No Israeli government will recognize a Palestinian state, and the Abraham Accords are quickly replacing two-state politics as the new paradigm. The two-state "solution" is no longer viable, and the international community is eager to keep the Palestinians as a humanitarian project under different guises, which has made normalizing the Abraham Accords conceivable.

Decolonization is the only way for the Palestinians to retake their land, therefore the fact that the PA is reliant on its benefactors does not augur well for them.
