US Cabinet discussing 25th amendment for Trump’s impeachment after a riot at the Capitol

As per The Hill, there is a growing discussion among the US officials for invoking the 25th Amendment to remove President Trump before Joe Biden takes to office following the rioting at the Capitol. However, the discussions seem to be less and it's still unclear whether they have reached to any Cabinet officials.

The Congress was in session, counting the Electoral College votes when a sudden ugly episode of breaching the security and violence inside the Capitol took place.
Moreover, the Legislators are urging for a complete investigation into how law enforcement managed the violent breach in Washington DC.

Officials from both the Democrat and Republican parties have denounced the havoc unleashed by Trump supporters at the US Capitol and his response to the rioting. Trump had lately continues to reject the presidential election results and calling it voter fraud.

U.S. Capitol Police, who were ensuring the protection of Congress had to ask for other law enforcement's, help control the overwhelming crowd.

Four people were shot by the police inside the Capitol, one of them was a woman, and the other three passed away after hospitalization, The AP reported.

As per the 25th Amendment, if the VP and majority of Cabinet secretaries decide that the president is unable to manage his powers and duties of office then they can present it in writing and send it to the congressional leaders.

When that occurs, the VP promptly becomes the acting president. If the president questions it, Congress can take up the matter, with a 66% vote of both the House and Senate is expected to keep the VP in charge. However, Section 4 has never been conjured.

As per experts, the drafters of the 25th Amendment had planned to imply it only if they find the president physically or mentally unfit to manage the nation. Researchers have contended that it could likewise apply all the more comprehensively to a president who is dangerously unfit for office, The Reuters reported.

Sen. Pat Toomey (R-Pa.) alluded to Trump as a "demagogue who decided to spread lies" in comments on the Senate floor as Congress reconvened to check Electoral College votes. Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) also stated that President Trump "bears the responsibility for the rioting at the Capitol building by raising the baseless conspiracy theories that led to this situation.”

The policemen made 52 arrests, among them four people were carrying pistols without a license and one for owning a prohibited weapon, the Metropolitan Police Department Chief Robert Contee stated.
