Another spike can occur if people get careless after receiving the Covid vaccine, say experts

On Tuesday, Prof David Halpern, the head of the Behavioral Insights Team stated that as per the survey many people that had received the coronavirus vaccine were preparing to meet their loved ones, which could bring about another wave of the pandemic.

Clinical experts have cautioned that people that have been inoculated against Covid-19 should carefully follow protocols as Vaccines are not 100% viable; it requires a long time to develop immunity, very little is known about Covid-19 transmission even after vaccination.

As the rollout of various coronavirus vaccines has begun in many nations, there are questions regarding many important issues related to the vaccine making the rounds, such as, can somebody who has been inoculated still spread the illness? Will the immunization stay effective as the virus mutates? How long will the antibody's protection last?

According to Behavioral psychologist Prof David Halpern, immunized individuals by mistake believe that they are protected and can proceed to socialize again with other people despite the dangers of Covid-19 are still lurking and not eradicated.

Nations have been cautioned by their respective health advisors that the main purpose of the vaccine program could be offset if people get careless about the coronavirus protocols after receiving the vaccine, especially in the initial months of the vaccine rollout.

The vaccine provides protection 12 to 14 days after the second dose, and scientists are uncertain whether it will prevent the beneficiary from transmitting the virus.

The Covid-19 vaccines have been approved and have begun the vaccine rollout in the U.S., Europe, and India are effective, safe and a historic achievement to battle the pandemic. However, there are known unknowns, especially when there is still yet to be observed whether the virus can transmit after vaccination.

Halpern states that many people feel when they have received the jab, they can go out without proper precautions. Nations should organize public awareness campaigns to educate people to continue the strict measures and protocols like wearing a mask, social distancing, less travel, and sanitization.
