Qatar’s Approach Towards Afghan Refugees screams Cruelty

The world is left in shock after the release of a video where Afghan refugees have been pushed inside a box size room in Qatar where they are forced to use one toilet and even the most basic of facilities are absent.

After the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan, many residents have fled to various countries and Qatar is one of them. Little they knew about the treatment they will be getting upon crossing the border and reaching Qatar.

Hundreds of Afghani refugees have been shoved into a room which is equipped with only one washroom and authorities seem to be completely ignorant about the possibilities of Covid-19 outbreak in the area.

The video was shared by an Afghan news agency Asvaa and it can be clearly seen that hundreds of men and women are inside a refugee camp in Qatar and the facility lacks anything that would make it easier for refugees to survive the hot climate of the country.

The news site claimed that the refugees have complained that they have no air-conditioning system and all of them have only one toilet and other than that also, they have no services at their disposal. The refugees had nowhere to go after the Taliban completely captured Afghanistan and things became extreme when the terror group took over Kabul, the capital city.

Womens are under a lot of threat given the previous record of the Taliban. Afghanistan’s first female mayor also said that she will not leave the country and flee away and rather wait for people to come and kill her and her family.

There were incidents where women were throwing their babies inside the gates of Kabul international airport and begged the soldiers to take their children and keep them at a safe place. Various countries have sent their staff to Afghanistan for evacuation purposes and hence many of the Afghan citizens are not being able to flee away.

People are desperate to leave the country and this has become evident with several videos surfacing online where people can be seen running after a US jet as it takes off. Some of them even managed to cling on to the wings and the wheels of the aircraft but unable to hold on, they fell off the airplane and died.
