Qatar unveils its support to Taliban with a threat to India against any military action
Taliban has officially taken over Afghanistan after the dangerous terror group gained control of the capital city of Kabul on Monday. The members of the group entered the presidential room as the Afghan president Ashraf Ghani fled from the country citing saving the country from any further bloodshed.
The situation had deteriorated after the United States president Joe Biden called for the complete removal of the American troops from the country after 20 years of involvement in the infighting. But to say that it was solely the fault of the Taliban that the Afghani government lost control over the country would be wrong.
Taliban received tremendous support from Qatar and a few leaders of Iran who are openly showing their friendship to the Talibani leaders and supporting the takeover despite knowing what damage it is capable of doing.
In fact, Qatar has been heavily involved in funding the dreaded group and it became more evident after the Talibani spokesperson sheltered in Doha threatened India against any military action in Afghanistan. This threat will definitely not be fruitful for India and Qatar’s relationship, which is on the verge of developing after the last few meetings of the top leaders.
The threat not only proves that Qatar is involved in supporting the Taliban but also highlights how Qatar is sheltering the topmost leaders of the group under its umbrella.
Another important fact to be noted here is that Pakistan is also supporting the Taliban’s takeover and there are numerous reports to back this. This complicated relationship between Qatar-India-Pakistan will only see a grave end as disputes will begin to arise if India notices Islamabad’s support to the Taliban especially when Qatar too is involved in the process.
Qatar and Iran are the countries that will be most benefited after the takeover. Pakistan has also linked to the group but it is hard to confirm if they will receive any direct benefit from this complete sweep or not.
As for India, knowing that Pakistan has been supporting the Taliban due to similar political goals, it will not be a bed of roses for India when safety is concerned. Even Qatar will not be supporting India against the Taliban’s activities due to over 20 years of alliance with the leaders of the group. It is only going to become tougher for India to maintain stability.
