Iran’s supreme leader ridicules US elections
Iran ridiculed the United States elections and scoffed at the claims of the current president Donald Trump during a televised address where he quoted the US president's claims of vote fraud to criticize the vote.
Iran has maintained for the longest time that their stand towards the US election remains trivial as this address was no different for the supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He made it clear that whether Trump regains his spot or Biden emerges as the choice, it hardly matters to Iran, said Khamenei as the nation marked the 1979 U.S. Embassy hostage crisis.
Even though the top officials have maintained that US elections have nothing to do with Iran but it will heavily impact Iran as if Trump comes to power again, he will probably do everything to completely disrupt the economy of the country while as his speeches reflect, Biden might go a little softer on Iran.
Biden has time and again said that he will give Iran an opportunity to have its take would ‘consider’ re-entering Tehran’s 2015 nuclear deal with world powers.
Khamenei said, “If you look at their own situation, it’s interesting to watch. The incumbent president, who is supposed to hold the elections, says this is the most-rigged U.S. election throughout history.”
He further targeted the Trump administration saying, “The sitting president who is arranging the elections himself. His opponent says Trump intends to widely cheat. This is American democracy.”
He clarified that the US elections are none of Iran’s concerns. ‘Iran’s policy is clear and well-calculated and people coming and going will have no impact on it.’
Iran and the US have been at extreme ends for over a decade now but having Donald Trump in power has only intensified the situation. The Trump administration has been focused on irradicating terrorism from the middle east region which has resulted in them taking extreme steps. Iran thus has become more reluctant to negotiate anything with the US.
